Medical introduction to the basics of tattooing and ethics
Hygiene and infection control (general concepts of hygiene: infection and its symptoms, inflammations, virulence, transmission routes, and risks)
Virology (general virology and relevant viruses: hepatitis, HIV, papilloma viruses) and prevention, vaccinations
Bacteriology (general bacteriology and relevant bacteria: staphylococci, streptococci, pseudomonads, tetanus, and tuberculosis) and prevention, vaccinations
Fungi (general mycology, relevant fungi: skin fungi, candida, and prevention)
Sexually transmitted diseases and other sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes, trichomonads, chancroid, lymphogranuloma venereum)
Sterilization (general concepts, sterilization methods and devices, options for outsourced sterilization, and sterilization control)
Dermatology (basic knowledge of skin anatomy: with special consideration of the specific activity of tattooing, histology of the skin, physiology of the skin including inflammations and common skin diseases)
