Training - Medical Content (Module 1) 33 Teaching Units

Contents:

• Medical introduction to the basics of tattooing and ethics
• Hygiene and infection control (general concepts of hygiene: infection and its symptoms, inflammations, virulence, transmission routes, and risks)
• Virology (general virology and relevant viruses: hepatitis, HIV, papilloma viruses) and prevention, vaccinations
• Bacteriology (general bacteriology and relevant bacteria: staphylococci, streptococci, pseudomonads, tetanus, and tuberculosis) and prevention, vaccinations
• Fungi (general mycology, relevant fungi: skin fungi, candida, and prevention)
• Sexually transmitted diseases and other sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes, trichomonads, chancroid, lymphogranuloma venereum)
• Disinfection (general concepts, skin, hand, surface, instrument disinfection, disinfection methods and agents, targeted disinfection)
• Sterilization (general concepts, sterilization methods and devices, options for outsourced sterilization, and sterilization control)
• Dermatology (basic knowledge of skin anatomy: with special consideration of the specific activity of tattooing, histology of the skin, physiology of the skin including inflammations and common skin diseases)
