Hanami Pigments for Permanent Make-up based on Novoxx Technology

Hanami pigments are PMU (permanent make-up) dyes of the newest generation based on shellac. Compared to traditional products, Hanami PMU pigments are highly innovative.

Working with these pigments is easy — the pigmentation heals beautifully, remains shiny, and stays saturated for a long time. Despite their high pigment concentration, the pigments are very fluid and especially suitable for fast-working linergists.

When producing PMU dyes, we use the latest technologies and established standards:

Narrow-band dispersion technology – better in the skin

The optimal pigment particle size is 2 µm. Hanami pigments are based on “narrow-band dispersion.” Hanami colors have been optimized for a pigment particle size range between 1 µm and 2 µm and remain almost completely consistent within this narrow band. This ensures maximum pigment retention in the skin and exceptionally high color saturation.

“Novoxx®” Technology

Novoxx® is a calcium-sodium-phospho-silicate technology patented by a German PMU laboratory. Novoxx® is 100% biocompatible with the human body and is not perceived as a foreign substance. The Novoxx® compound replaces traditional preservatives and effectively eliminates bacteria, yeasts, and fungi. It also acts as an antioxidant that protects both skin and pigment.
The combination of minerals supports wound healing and reduces itching during the healing process (according to the subjective opinion of many users). Compared to traditional preservatives, Novoxx® has the additional advantage of being stable — it is not broken down by ingredients used in inks, preventing the formation of toxic or allergenic by-products.

Advanced Skin Sealing Technology – more pigment in the skin

The ASS technology developed by a German laboratory and used in Hanami pigments is based on optimal sealing of the ink injection sites. This prevents excessive pigment loss with blood during the procedure, ensuring that more pigment remains in the treated area from the very beginning of the pigmentation process.

High-performance pigment from European sources

The production of highly pure, high-performance pigments from European sources guarantees safety from the start. Hanami pigments feature excellent lightfastness and a beautiful color palette.

Iron oxide-free

Iron oxides tend to turn red in the skin and often contain nickel. The absence of iron oxides keeps pigments stable in the skin and reduces the risk of allergic reactions.

MRI Safe

Our pigments do not interfere with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), unlike popular products containing iron oxides.

Without Ethyl Alcohol

Ethyl alcohol, commonly used as a preservative in pigments, can irritate the skin and burn wounds. Our pigments contain no alcohol, minimizing the risk of irritation compared to most other pigments.

Safety through AZO Technology

AZO Safe
Hanami pigments are produced without the use of critical AZO dyes, in compliance with the European Resolution ResAP (2008). Therefore, they cannot release carcinogenic aromatic amines.
Each batch is tested for possible contamination that may occur during manufacturing or transport. We do not rely solely on the manufacturer — every delivery is tested in specialized laboratories.

Tested for Heavy Metals

In addition to the requirements of the European Council, we also test for the presence of heavy metals in accordance with California’s strict regulations for tattoo and PMU pigments.
We check 18 different parameters. As allergies become more common in today’s world, avoiding heavy metals is increasingly important. Our pigments are among the safest in the world.

PAH-free

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are carcinogenic and must not be present in PMU pigments. We use only high-quality, fine carbon powder from a German manufacturer who guarantees PAH-free materials.

Free from N-Nitrosodiethanolamine (NDELA)

N-Nitrosodiethanolamine (NDELA) has been classified as a toxic substance by Swiss authorities, who have set a limit of 35 ppm.
Our pigments are continuously tested for the presence of NDELA in accordance with Swiss standards and fully comply with these limits.

Sterile

Our pigments are mixed under vacuum conditions without air access to prevent contamination.
Due to legal regulations, the pigments are finally sterilized using gamma radiation.

Without Preservatives

As more and more people develop allergies to preservatives, we do not use them in our pigments.

Tested Raw Materials

We use only the highest-quality, tested raw materials. We manage them in a way that allows for additional independent laboratory testing.

Cosmetic-Pharmaceutical Grade Dispersant

The dispersant used in the production of Hanami pigments is made exclusively from cosmetic and pharmaceutical-grade ingredients.
We do not use cheap industrial materials to cut costs.

Not Tested on Animals

We oppose animal testing.

Not Vegan

Hanami pigments contain shellac and are therefore not vegan. All other pigment ingredients are vegan.

IT-Based Formulation and Quality Assurance System

To ensure consistent quality and color accuracy, we use an IT-based composition and Quality Assurance (QA) system.
The entire production process — from raw material purchase through analysis and manufacturing to sales — is fully documented and meets almost the highest standards of the global pharmaceutical industry.
We do everything possible to keep our pigments safe.
